FAQs

Do you accept insurance?

We do not bill directly to insurance companies. If you are seeking insurance coverage, contact your insurance provider and ask about reimbursement for Speech and Language services. An invoice will be provided upon request for families looking to submit to their insurance provider.

How long are treatment sessions?

Therapy bookings are 60 minutes long. Clients will be scheduled for 45 minute sessions, where direct and individualized treatment occurs. The remaining 15 minutes is built in for admin/prep work completed by the SLP.

How long will my child need intervention?

The duration of a client’s treatment is a based on a number of different variables. It is important for families to understand the importance of parent involvement in home practice. The speech-language pathologist (SLP) will provide specific targets for practice with articulation or motor speech therapy goals to encourage a faster rate of progress. Research demonstrates that children make faster progress when parents also utilize strategies to target growth in speech and language skills (Roberts, et al. 2011).

Can I attend my child’s session?

Of course! In fact, it’s encouraged!

Do you accept an outside evaluation?

Yes, we will! If your child has recently had a speech and language evaluation through school or another facility, we would be happy to review it to develop a treatment plan. If the assessment is not up-to-date or does not address all areas of concern, it will be necessary for us to complete one prior to beginning treatment.

Do I need a referral from a Doctor to begin therapy?

No you do not need a referral. A person may be referred for Speech and Language services by their physician or can seek out their own Speech-Language Pathologist.

Do you offer weekend and evening appointments?

We understand that your child’s speech therapy appointments need to fit into your family’s lifestyle. We offer evening sessions, and weekend appointments can sometimes be made available upon request.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand scheduling conflicts happen and at times you will need to cancel! As per our cancellation policy, we ask for a 24-hour notice. If last-minute cancellations happen with less than 24-hours notice, a $20.00 fee will be charged. No-shows will be charged 50% of your session rate.
